Dragons\u2019 Den<\/a> has seen some huge deals during its 22-year run on the BBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, October 17, however, history was made when Steven Bartlett<\/a> and Sara Davies<\/a> teamed up for the biggest deal ever seen on the show.<\/p>\n

The pair were impressed by serial entrepreneur Francisco Gimenez, who stepped into the Den to present the business basilisks with his ambitious plan to revolutionise the hairdressing industry.<\/p>\n

Francisco and his company, Yuv, have designed an automatic hair colour dispensing system that mixes the perfect shade for every client.<\/p>\n

The idea being that the system cuts down costs and saves salons time. <\/p>\n

He claims that for a \u00a349 a month Yuv will lease haidresser the equipment they need allowing them to save up to \u00a3500 a month. Francisco forecast the comapny would be making \u00a31 million in the first year and \u00a36 million the year after. <\/p>\n

What really impressed them though was when Francisco revealed that he\u2019d sold his previous business for \u20ac200 million (\u00a3174 million) and had managed to secure \u00a34 million in investment already.<\/p>\n

Francisco was hoping to secure a further \u00a3250,000 investment in the company, a staggering sum, but was only offering a 1% stake in the business. <\/p>\n

Still, despite asking the Dragons to dig deep into their treasure troves to fund his idea, he clearly impressed them as he left the Den with the money and both Steven and Sara\u2019s backing. <\/p>\n

\u2018Francisco, you\u2019re very, very good,\u2019 said Sara after hearing his pitch. \u2018You don\u2019t need any of us to tell you that.<\/p>\n

You know that \u2013 you\u2019ve got a proven track record, you\u2019ve put your own money in, and you\u2019ve just got everything going for you.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m in. I\u2019d be in on this,\u2019 she continued. \u2018I understand it\u2019s a small little seat on a big bus. But I tell you what \u2013 it\u2019s a good bus to be on, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n

\u2018So yeah, I would give you all that money \u2013 the quarter of a million \u2013 for 1%.\u2019<\/p>\n

Despite already securing the funding he needed, Francisco heard out the other Dragons, including Steven, who also wanted a piece of Yuv. <\/p>\n

\u2018You are so fantastic that I\u2019m going to give you that,\u2019 the social media<\/a> guru said. \u2018I\u2019m going to give you the \u00a3250k for 1% of your business.\u2019<\/p>\n

In the end, Francisco decided to go with both Dragons walking away with a \u00a3500,000 investment for a 2% stake in his company. <\/p>\n

The other Dragons refused to invest as they believed the 1% stake was too small and Francisco refused to budge on his position. <\/p>\n

\t\t\t\tWhat are some of the most successful businesses rejected on Dragons’ Den?\t\t\t<\/p>\n

While some companies like PerfectTed might find success after winning an investment on Dragons\u2019 Den, others weren\u2019t so lucky on the show\u2026 but\u00a0went on to achieve great things<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hungry House<\/p>\n

In 2007, Shane Lake and Tony Charles pitched their online takeaway order service, securing a \u00a3100,000 investment for 11% of their business from two Dragons. While the investment fell through shortly after the show, 11 years later, their business was sold to Just Eat after being valued at around \u00a32bn.<\/p>\n

Oppo ice cream<\/p>\n

Brothers Harry and Charlie Thuillier pitched Oppo ice cream in 2016 and were rejected by all five of the Dragons. However, as of 2022, it was estimated that they had an estimated annual revenue of \u00a312m.<\/p>\n

BrewDog<\/p>\n

BrewDog is now a household name in beer \u2013 but in 2009, they didn\u2019t even make it to air when they applied to be on the show. And well\u2026 the rest is history.<\/p>\n

Trunki<\/p>\n

Many of us have spotted children wheeling around on their adorable suitcases in the airport \u2013 but in 2006, the investors on Dragons\u2019 Den turned down their business proposal. A few years ago, the company was reportedly worth around \u00a39.5m.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t get out of bed for 1%,\u2019 said Touker Suleyman before annoucing he was out. Emma Grede meanwhile offered all the money for 3% of the business.<\/p>\n

Deborah Meaden wanted 2% and Peter Jones was wiling to go to 1% but wanted an additional 3% in advisory shares.<\/p>\n
