Liverpool recently gifted Tyler Morton<\/a> a replica Premier League<\/a> trophy to show their appreciation after 17 years at the club.<\/p>\n

Morton was one of eight senior players to be sold in the summer, with a \u00a315 million deal agreed with Ligue 1\u2019s Lyon to end his association with his boyhood club.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old first joined the club\u2019s academy as a five-year-old, moving up the ranks and making the first of his 14 senior appearances under Jurgen Klopp<\/a> in September 2021.<\/p>\n

The midfielder could not break into the first-team set up as a regular, and after a frustrating 2024\/25 season as a backup, Morton was ready to join Lyon when they came calling in the summer.<\/p>\n

He is now thriving in France, but Liverpool did not forget to show their appreciation for their academy graduate, sending him a replica Premier League<\/a> trophy with his name and number engraved.<\/p>\n

Morton showed off Liverpool\u2019s gift in an interview with SPORTbible<\/a>, calling it a \u201creally classy touch from the club.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a tough season football-wise, but an amazing one off the pitch with incredible people who got me through it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The replica trophy arrived earlier this month, and while Morton did not make a league appearance last season, the gift is deserved recognition of his contribution to the team\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

It is symbolic of Liverpool looking after their own and is worthy recognition for a player who graduated from their academy and is now excelling at a new club.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old also spoke of his frustration<\/a> at only seeing 253 minutes of action last season due to the lack of trust from Arne Slot<\/a>, which meant he was mentally checked out when his time at the club ended. <\/p>\n

\u201cMentally, I was kind of checked out in the end. I knew it was going to happen,\u201d Morton admitted about his exit.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy emotions didn\u2019t come too much on the day; it was more like \u2018I need to get this move done, get myself out and go play some football\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe emotions came after, when I realised I wouldn\u2019t be playing with the lads I\u2019ve played with all my life \u2013 like Jarell, Harvey and Conor, somebody I\u2019ve known since 11\u201312.\u201d<\/p>\n
