iOS 26.0.2 Release Date<\/p>\n
The report goes on to say it will likely be released by the end of next week. <\/p>\n
That makes sense. It has to come before iOS 26.1, obviously, and since that was expected to arrive some time in the week beginning Monday, Oct. 27, it can\u2019t be long now. <\/p>\n
My guess is that it will land earlier in the week rather than later, likely around Tuesday, Oct. 21 or Wednesday, Oct. 22. <\/p>\n
Oct. 22, by the way, is also the day that the new iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and Apple Vision Pro with M5 chips go on sale. <\/p>\n
iOS 26.0.2: What\u2019s In The Update<\/p>\n
There are almost certainly no new features in the update. Those will be saved for iOS 26.1 in all likelihood. But the bugs that have arisen in iOS 26 will the first priority for the new update. <\/p>\n
Plus, of course, any security issues that may have appeared since iOS 26.0.1 was released are likely to be addressed, especially if they are urgent enough to mean waiting for iOS 26.1 would be a problem. <\/p>\n
Note that when it appears, there will almost certainly be an iOS 18 update as well. That\u2019s for people who are reluctant to jump into the new iOS 26 cycle too early. <\/p>\n
Apple provides this alternative for the first few releases of each new cycle, but they\u2019re unlikely to continue beyond November, for instance. <\/p>\n
Although it\u2019s not known what will be in the update, or which iPhones it will apply to, it may be that the fixes apply to the latest models, that is iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air.<\/p>\n
