Bentornato | Sarah Andrew<\/p>\n

Bentornato (Valiant Minister<\/a>), runner-up in last year’s GI Breeders’ Cup Sprint, breezed five furlongs in company in a bullet 1:00 (1\/24)<\/a> Saturday morning at Keeneland in preparation for a return trip to Del Mar for this year’s race on Nov. 1. He had jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard for the work with Araucano (McKinzie<\/a>), a 3-year-old maiden.<\/p>\n

Bentornato finished three lengths clear of his workmate at the wire and lengthened the advantage on the gallop out.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe will have his final work here next week,\u201d trainer Jose D’Angelo said of Bentornato, who posted his third work since winning the Louisville Thoroughbred Society at Churchill Downs Sept. 13 that served as his 2025 debut.<\/p>\n

On Oct. 29, a 25% ownership interest in Bentornato will be offered at the Keeneland Championship Sale in the Del Mar Paddock.<\/p>\n

‘TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard’ Percy’s Bar (Upstart<\/a>), who looms as one of the main contenders for the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar Oct. 31, on Saturday worked a half-mile in company in :48.20 (16\/119)<\/a> with jockey Luan Machado aboard. She was disqualified from first and placed second for causing interference in the GI Darley Alcibiades S. at Keeneland Oct. 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cI loved it for her first and only work for the Breeders’ Cup,\u201d trainer Ben Colebrook said. \u201cShe acted like she wanted to do something this morning. Luan never asked her. She cruised up to her workmate and got to do what we set out to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other Breeders’ Cup-bound workers at Keeneland Saturday include: Praying (Vekoma) (F\/M Sprint) (3f, :38.40, 10\/21); Vahva (Gun Runner<\/a>) (F\/M Sprint) (4f, :48.00, 9\/119)<\/a>; Schwarzenegger (Not This Time<\/a>) (Juvenile Turf Sprint) (4fT, :49.60, 1\/7)<\/a>; Outfielder (Speightstown) (Juvenile Turf Sprint) (4fT, :50.20, 3\/7<\/a>).<\/p>\n
