There’s a wealth of great telly to enjoy at the moment, from Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> to The Great British Bake Off<\/a>. However, if you’re in the mood for something a bit more serious, there’s a TV drama that BBC<\/a> viewers can’t stop singing praises about.<\/p>\n

Blue Lights is a contemporary Northern Irish police drama series set in the fictional Blackthorn police station in Belfast. It follows the journey of three probationary officers of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI<\/a>). Directed by Gilles Bannier, the series first hit the screens on BBC One on March 27, 2023 and just recently, premiered its third series last month which has been receiving rave reviews on Reddit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the Pilot TV Podcast forum, which boasts a whopping 1.2 million members, one viewer claimed the third series is “slightly underrated”.<\/p>\n

They added: “I have just finished series 3 of Blue Lights and for me it’s the best one yet, the show just gets better and better. The characters are written with so much heart. I also feel it’s a perfectly paced show with 6 episodes being just the right amount.<\/p>\n

“For me the show strikes the perfect balance between the crime plot and leaving enough time to show the lives of the team and their relationships with one another.”<\/p>\n

The viewer even went as far as to say that the series doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves and should be showered with “all the awards”.<\/p>\n

“Don’t get me wrong, I love Line of Duty<\/a>, but I actually feel this recent series of Blue Lights was even better than the last couple from LOD,” one viewer shared. “I also don’t remember seeing Blue Lights appearing on too many end of year lists – including Pilots.”<\/p>\n

The Reddit user concluded their post by suggesting that Blue Lights should be screened weekly on BBC.<\/p>\n

Their post garnered dozens of likes and comments, with many other viewers echoing their sentiments.<\/p>\n

One said: “I finished series 3 last night and I agree, it was the best. The tension I felt every time someone got in a car, the dramatic nail-biting moments. Honestly, no idea how the characters don’t all have PTSD with what they went through in these 6 episodes!”<\/p>\n

“For me, it’s right up there with Line of Duty right now. Really excellent.”<\/p>\n

Another added: “Incredible show. Deserves all the awards. Great ensemble cast.
