England Rugby League, in collaboration with Oxen, has today unveiled a limited-edition poppy-inspired shirt, created to honour the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces ahead of this year\u2019s Remembrance commemorations – to be worn in the Third Ashes Test against Australia at Headingley on November 8.<\/p>\n
Oxen, the technical kit suppliers to the England team and Rugby League Commercial, have created an abstract, striking design that combines England\u2019s traditional red with subtle red poppy detailing and navy blue trim \u2014 a unique and powerful tribute to those who have served and continue to serve the nation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In support of the Royal British Legion, \u00a35 from every shirt sold will be donated to support the charity\u2019s vital work with the Armed Forces community.\u00a0<\/p>\n
England captain George Williams said: \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cPulling on an England shirt always means a lot, but this one carries extra significance. It\u2019s a chance for us to remember those who gave everything and to represent them with pride when we take the field at Headingley.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
The third Test of the\u00a0 ABK Rugby League Ashes will be played on Remembrance weekend, with both teams and the sport of Rugby League taking the chance of a poignant moment of reflection for players and fans alike.\u00a0<\/p>\n
