As the 2025 ATP Tour season nears a thrilling conclusion, the race to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals<\/a> is reaching fever pitch. There are valuable points on offer this week at ATP 500 events in Vienna and Basel.<\/p>\n Jannik Sinner<\/a> is the top seed at the Erste Bank Open<\/a> in Vienna, joined by Alexander Zverev<\/a>, while Taylor Fritz<\/a> and Ben Shelton<\/a> lead the charge at the Swiss Indoors Basel<\/a>. ATPTour.com looks at five things to watch at each tournament.<\/p>\n FIVE THINGS TO WATCH IN VIENNA: Turin Tussle: Alex de Minaur<\/a> and Lorenzo Musetti<\/a> will both look to strengthen their push to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals<\/a>. De Minaur is seventh in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, while Musetti \u2014 chasing his debut at the season finale \u2014 sits just 60 points behind in eighth.<\/p>\n Medvedev\u2019s Momentum: Fresh off a title run in Almaty and consecutive semi-finals in Beijing and Shanghai, Daniil Medvedev<\/a> continues his late-season surge. Though 12th in the Live Race, the former World No. 1 still has the chance to qualify for his seventh straight appearance at the year-end championships. Andrey Rublev<\/a>, 14th, and Karen Khachanov<\/a>, 18th, also hunt crucial points in Vienna.<\/p>\n Rising Star Budkov Kjaer: Former Wimbledon<\/a> boys\u2019 champion Nicolai Budkov Kjaer<\/a> has captured four ATP Challenger Tour titles this season and is fifth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Jeddah, aiming to debut at the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF<\/a>. The 19-year-old faces Tomas Martin Etcheverry<\/a> in his opener.<\/p>\n Arevalo\/Pavic Headline Doubles:\u00a0Marcelo Arevalo<\/a> and Mate Pavic<\/a> are the top seeds in the double’s draw. They are chasing their first title since triumphing in Rome in May.<\/p>\n FIVE THINGS TO WATCH IN BASEL: Can Ruud Make Ground? With his title run in Stockholm, Casper Ruud<\/a> maintained his position at 11th in the Live Race, but has also made ground on those in the qualification spots. Ruud finished runner-up at the season finale in 2022, and is aiming to qualify for the fourth time in his career. He faces lucky loser Quentin Halys<\/a> in the first round.<\/p>\n #NextGenATP Mensik & Fonseca: Jakub Mensik<\/a> and Joao Fonseca<\/a>, two of the brightest young prospects on the ATP Tour, both return to action after opening-round losses in Shanghai and Brussels, respectively. Fonseca faces defending champion Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard<\/a> in his Basel debut.<\/p>\n Cousins Vacherot, Rinderknech Return: After their fairytale run in Shanghai, where World No. 204 Vacherot defeated Arthur Rinderknech<\/a> in the final to become the lowest-ranked ATP Masters 1000 champion, the duo returns to court. Vacherot has since rocketed inside the Top 40.<\/p>\n Bolelli & Vavassori’s Turin Quest:\u00a0Simone Bolelli<\/a> and Andrea Vavassori<\/a> are the second seeds in the double’s draw. The Italians are seventh in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings and aiming to return to the Nitto ATP Finals<\/a>.
