Lamont Roach revealed today the reason he was so upset with Gervonta Davis breaching the contractual rematch in favor of the Jake Paul exhibition is that no one reached out to him to pay him a step aside.<\/p>\n

$40 Million and Silence<\/p>\n

What makes it look worse is that Tank is reportedly getting $40 million for the Jake Paul fight on November 14th. Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs) isn\u2019t getting any of that. He\u2019d have liked a little taste to wet his beak in some of that loot that Davis will be enjoying. That\u2019s not going to happen. Seeing Tank get that kind of dough would leave anyone embittered, harping about it for weeks without shutting up. $4 or $5 million would have been nice.<\/p>\n

Roach will be getting a far smaller payday in a lesser fight against WBC interim light welterweight champion Isaac \u2018Pitbull\u2019 Cruz (28-3-1, 18 KOs) on December 6 on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Prime Video<\/a> PPV at the Frost Bank Center, San Antonio, Texas.<\/p>\n

The money won\u2019t be as good, and he won\u2019t be getting the step aside that he deserved for a double payday.<\/p>\n

Roach Left Empty-Handed<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s going to go and fight and get this money, and I\u2019m not supposed to get anything?\u201d said Lamont Roach to Ring Champs<\/a>, complaining about Gervonta Davis in breach of contract, walking away from their fight to get a reported $40 million for the November 14th exhibition match against Jake Paul. Roach says he wasn\u2019t given a step aside.<\/p>\n

Roach doesn\u2019t like the lack of professionalism and respect that Team Tank showed toward him. They just wanted him to sit and be cool with it, with the contract being overlooked, while Gervonta goes off and picks up a $40 million paycheck.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was in his shoes and he was in my shoes, I would call him, and say, \u2018We\u2019re going to take this Jake Paul fight. We\u2019re going to give you XYZ to step aside. We might revisit, or we might not revisit. Let\u2019s figure this out. I\u2019m getting a big opportunity. Let me see what I can work out.\u2019 Ain\u2019t none of that happened,\u201d said Roach.<\/p>\n
