Leeds United lost 2-0 to Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, which could be a damaging defeat for Daniel Farke\u2019s side if they fail to secure points against West Ham United on Friday.<\/p>\n

Lesley Ugochukwu opened the scoring with a header and Leeds United<\/a> could not find a way through Scott Parker\u2019s side, despite the fact his side had just four shots in the entire game.<\/p>\n

Burnley boss Parker praised Leeds\u2019 summer recruitment<\/a> but Leeds were short of attacking numbers, with Willy Gnonto out and Noah Okafor also absent against Burnley.<\/p>\n

Leeds had more shots and more expected goals, although a losing game state for the majority of the game may go some way to explaining why that was the case. Leeds looked largely toothless in attack.<\/p>\n

The loss also meant Daniel Farke has failed to score in seven league games against Burnley<\/a> in a row, with his Norwich City side winning 2-1 in an FA Cup game back in 2019\/20.<\/p>\n

Saturday was also Burnley\u2019s first win against Leeds in the Premier League, with Marcelo Bielsa the last Leeds manager to beat Burnley<\/a> in any capacity. The attack was the primary issue, with no repeatable patterns of play to create.<\/p>\n

Leeds did not utilise Dominic Calvert-Lewin\u2019s hold-up play to its maximum capacity and the likes of Brenden Aaronson struggled for Leeds against Burnley<\/a>. The lack of dynamism in attack showed.<\/p>\n

A pretty clear (failed) ploy by Leeds today \u2013 get the ball in the box.<\/p>\n

Following full-time, Opta\u2019s Jonny Cooper revealed that Leeds\u2019 trip to Burnley was the most crosses by a team in a Premier League game this season (47) and the most by Leeds in a league game for over five years.<\/p>\n

Burnley funnelled the ball wide and Leeds lacked quality delivery, outside of a handful from Gabriel Gudmundsson and Dan James when he was introduced to the action. It\u2019s fair to say it played right into their hands.<\/p>\n

That means Parker has won two and drawn one when facing Farke\u2019s Leeds. Despite the fact\u00a0Leeds had a statistically better season than Burnley<\/a>\u00a0in 2024\/25, Parker has been the more impressive in these head-to-head games.<\/p>\n

Prior to the game against Burnley, Farke\u2019s Leeds future was discussed<\/a>. The Whites are above the Clarets, but it\u2019s fair to say that some pressure was applied to Farke and his squad after the three points went to Lancashire.<\/p>\n

Speaking about security for his job, Graeme Bailey said of Farke: \u201cI don\u2019t agree with the bookmakers here. I think they\u2019ve done that considering Leeds know they let themselves down in terms of strikers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey got [Noah] Okafor and [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin in but they wanted to do more. But I think \u2014 in terms of what they did \u2014 they\u2019re in a decent position.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think there\u2019s a couple more managers who are under more pressure and more likely to go than Daniel Farke.\u201d<\/p>\n
