Former Liverpool striker joins Macclesfield<\/p>\n

Young Max Woltman showed big potential as a quick striker in the academy, earning himself two appearances in the first team under Jurgen Klopp<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Ultimately, though, he didn\u2019t make the step up permanently to the senior squad and left his boyhood club for Oxford United in 2023.<\/p>\n

The Wirralian made just three appearances for them in the end, and he left at the end of his contract this summer. <\/p>\n

Thankfully he has now found a new club, Macclesfield, who play in the sixth-tier of English football, the National League North.<\/p>\n

Manager John Rooney, the younger brother of Wayne Rooney, said<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019m made up that we\u2019ve managed to get the deal over the line with Max, he was really highly thought of at Liverpool, he\u2019s got bags of ability and has really impressed me in training (as a trialist) over the last few weeks. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m keen to see what the lad can do for us and hopefully he\u2019ll be a great addition to the side.\u201d<\/p>\n

From making his Liverpool debut at San Siro to turning out in the sixth tier at Macclesfield, Woltman\u2019s young career has certainly had its ups and downs so far. <\/p>\n

Hopefully, despite this initially only being a \u2018short-term deal\u2019, the Silkmen can provide a platform for the 22-year-old to kick on!<\/p>\n
