Marhoona won the Golden Slipper in the autumn at her third race start before returning with a bang with victory in the Listed Heritage Stakes (1100m).<\/p>\n

The brilliant daughter of Snitzel struggled to match the first-up performance last start when third as favourite in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) on October 11 at Royal Randwick.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was just a little bit jarry so we had a good chat about it and we thought there was only one race we wanted to press on for at this stage and that was the Coolmore,\u201d Freedman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven that she has had that little niggle we thought she can have a good break and it gives us the time to give her a nice break and bring her back for the autumn.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would be keen to stretch her out a bit more during the autumn and I think she would be the type of filly that would enjoy just a touch of sting out of the track.\u201d<\/p>\n

TAB rated Marhoona as an $11 chance in Coolmore Stud Stakes betting with Godolphin colts Beiwacht<\/a> ($2.80) and Tentyris<\/a> ($3.50) fighting out favouritism for the sprint on November 1.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Flight Stakes winner Apocalyptic<\/a> has also went to the paddock after finishing a game runner-up to Ole Dancer in the Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield last weekend.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was probably just a little bit unfortunate that Apocalyptic ended up leading because that wasn\u2019t the intention and I don\u2019t think it really suited her but she ran a courageous race and rounded out a fantastic campaign,\u201d Freedman said.<\/p>\n
