Though Kim Kardashian\u2019s masked look<\/a> had all eyes on her at Saturday night\u2019s Academy Museum Gala, her makeup team wasn\u2019t as thrilled with the wardrobe styling.<\/p>\n

Kardashian stepped out in Maison Margiela Couture for the evening, wearing a nude-toned dress with a nipped-in corseted waist.<\/p>\n

While her neck was covered in layers of gems, her face was totally concealed by a beige, semi-sheer face covering.<\/p>\n

Kardashian appeared on the blue carpet at the Academy Museum Gala wearing a face covering with her couture look. REUTERS<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old\u2019s face covering matched the material used for the dress itself. FilmMagic<\/p>\n

Kardashian revealed to Variety<\/a> on the red carpet that not only did she have a full face of makeup beneath the obstructing mask, but that her makeup artist had been flown across the country specifically for the event to join hairstylist Chris Appleton.<\/p>\n

Mario Dedivanovic and Chris Appleton took to Instagram to joke about the covered glam.<\/p>\n

\u201cI flew in my favorite makeup artist Mario [Dedivanovic] from New York, and this is kind of a last-minute thing, so I\u2019m sure he\u2019s not so happy with it,\u201d shared Kardashian.<\/p>\n

She did add, however, that she planned to take the facemask off inside the gala, so Dedivanovic\u2019s flawless work would, indeed, be seen.<\/p>\n

Kardashian\u2019s team, Dedivanovic and Appleton, joked in an Instagram video<\/a>, \u201cI feel like our work really just spoke for itself today. I had this creative flair going for me \u2026 and the face was insane \u2026 I don\u2019t think people are ready \u2026\u201d at which point, they turned the camera on Kardashian, adding, \u201cA mask? A mask?\u201d<\/p>\n

Appleton added on his own Instagram<\/a>, \u201cBehind every masked moment is a glam team silently crying \ud83e\udd79.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old is quite a fan of the face covering, having made waves<\/a> back in 2021 at the Met Gala, choosing an all black Balenciaga look, complete with a mask.<\/p>\n

When Alex Cooper of \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d interviewed Kardashian last week<\/a>, she asked about the infamous look, whether she took it off, ate, drank or allowed anyone to see her face all night.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d Kardashian replied to all. \u201cI was committed.\u201d \u201cIt was for fashion,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The mom of four has become a little more lenient as the years have passed, it seems, allowing herself to remove her most recent high-fashion mask and allow her traditional glam to shine.<\/p>\n

Kardashian also shared with Cooper that she estimated her annual glam costs \u201ccould be a million dollars,\u201d which makes this weekend\u2019s makeup seem even more of a missed opportunity.<\/p>\n
