Manchester United\u2019s loans this season have been much better planned out than in previous years, with numerous youngsters getting the opportunity to shine.<\/p>\n

The loan market has been a weakness for years at Manchester United<\/a>, with promising young players often heading on loans where they don\u2019t play.<\/p>\n

However, new United loan manager Jonny Evans<\/a> has done a very encouraging job, with multiple loanees really impressing at their loan clubs.<\/p>\n

This past weekend, Ethan Wheatley shone for Northampton<\/a>, making the team of the week after his goal in an impressive display. Additionally, Radek Vitek has been continuously excellent for Bristol City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Saturday also saw another loanee stand out for his team.<\/p>\n

One loanee in the Championship is Toby Collyer<\/a>, and he enjoyed a very impressive outing last weekend for West Brom.<\/p>\n

For the Baggies, Collyer enjoyed his best performance yet in the win against Preston. But despite the top performance, there is bad news, with Collyer now injured.<\/p>\n

Speaking with the Express and Star<\/a>, Brom boss Ryan Mason has explained the situation around Collyer\u2019s injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully, it\u2019s not too bad. He had a few injuries at Man Utd last season in a similar area.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a young boy, he\u2019s still growing, he\u2019s still developing, and we need to be aware of that. So, yes, the scan came back, it\u2019s something that\u2019s going to keep him out, but hopefully not for too long.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is nightmare timing for Collyer, suffering a setback just as he was beginning to look at home in the Championship; however, it is encouraging to hear that he won\u2019t be out for a long time.<\/p>\n

Manchester United could be planning to cash in on Toby Collyer<\/p>\n

While Collyer was once considered the best youngster in the country<\/a>, his chances of ever making it at United now look rather slim, with the midfield department set to be overhauled in 2026, along with the young talents being recruited.<\/p>\n

With this, it feels likely that come summer 2026, Collyer will be surplus to requirements. However, by the time the transfer window rolls around, Ineos will hope that he\u2019s established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Championship.<\/p>\n

Collyer has the ability to do this, and if he does, there could be a \u00a310m at least sale on the cards for United, based on recent years and how much Championship loanees from big clubs have cost in recent years.<\/p>\n

This would fulfil Sir Jim Ratcliffe\u2019s academy admission<\/a> when he accepted that the financials can be helped by selling homegrown players.<\/p>\n
