But I wanted to highlight the romance of the chosen family, the depth of connection that isn\u2019t tethered to heteronormative ideals. It\u2019s such a powerful song about the yearning for intimacy. I love inhabiting other people&#8217;s songs. When I sing someone else\u2019s words, I feel like I&#8217;m getting closer to myself somehow, because the songs I choose express something I can\u2019t articulate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Calvi\u2019s recent work includes scores for the final two seasons of <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/anna-calvi-releasing-peaky-blinders-soundtracks-shares-new-song-listen\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peaky Blinders<\/a>, released in 2023. Her last albums were 2018\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/anna-calvi-hunter\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hunter<\/a> and its guest-assisted companion LP <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/anna-calvi-hunted\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hunted<\/a>.
