Ellen DeGeneres<\/a> has shared an insight into her quiet life<\/a> in the English countryside after upping sticks from the USA last year.<\/p>\n

The former chat show host, 67, has given a rare glimpse into her reported $30million (\u00a322.5m) Cotswolds<\/a> home, having relocated with wife Portia de Rossi from California<\/a>, a decision that was motivated by escaping Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Ellen DeGeneres Show star<\/a> shared a video of her two small dogs playing in a large open plan kitchen and living room, complete with huge muted, patterned carpets and various beige seating areas.<\/p>\n

Sitting on a chest of drawers were books about Africa, interior design and art, as well as a horse sculpture. <\/p>\n

The glass-fronted living area allows glorious vistas over the surrounding countryside, which she recently revealed Portica is \u2018living her dream\u2019<\/a> in, exploring the rolling hills on horseback.<\/p>\n

Ellen recently fully embedded herself into Cotswolds culture by welcoming a terrier puppy, Sport, into the family, alongside her other dog, Kid.<\/p>\n

\u2018They\u2019ve finally figured it out. We\u2019ve all been sad since losing Augie,\u2019 DeGeneres wrote in the caption of the video showing the dogs zooming around their house, referring to their rescue dog who died in May.<\/p>\n

\u2018Sport has brought so much joy into the house and it makes us so happy to see Kid play again, even though he has a very unique style of play.\u2019<\/p>\n

On her estate many animals roam, including handy, grass-cutting sheep, horses and chickens.<\/p>\n

\u2018When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn\u2019t live without her horses. We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them,\u2019 the comedian recently said.<\/p>\n

When asked about whether Trump was the reason for her move across the pond at the Everyman theatre in nearby Cheltenham in July, Ellen simply replied, as reported by the BBC<\/a>: \u2018Yes.\u2019 <\/p>\n

\u2018We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, \u201cHe got in\u201d,\u2019 she said. \u2018And we\u2019re like, \u201cWe\u2019re staying here\u201d,\u2019 Ellen said, having originally planned for their Cotswolds house to be a part-time residence.<\/p>\n

After allegations of a toxic workplace culture on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the star apologised on air and her show was pulled in 2022 after 19 years. <\/p>\n

Since stepping down from her show, which ended every episode with a message to \u2018be kind\u2019, Ellen has\u00a0rarely been seen on TV<\/a>, but did return to the stage and acknowledged the controversy. <\/p>\n

\u2018What else can I tell you? Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business. There\u2019s no mean people in show business,\u2019 she said, as reported by\u00a0TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u2018The hate went on for a long time and I would try to avoid looking at the news. The \u201cbe kind\u201d girl wasn\u2019t kind. That was the headline. <\/p>\n

\u2018I became this one-dimensional character who gave stuff away and danced up steps \u2026 Would a mean person dance up steps? Had I ended my show by saying, \u201cGo f*** yourself\u201d, people would\u2019ve been pleasantly surprised.\u2019<\/p>\n

Explaining her feelings towards the situation further, she said: \u2018Honestly, I\u2019m making jokes about what happened to me, but it was devastating, really. I just hated the way the show ended. <\/p>\n

\u2018I love that show so much and I just hated that the last time people would see me is that way.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s absolutely beautiful,\u2019 she said of her Cotswolds home. \u2018We\u2019re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture \u2013 everything you see is charming and it\u2019s just a simpler way of life.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s clean. Everything here is just better \u2013 the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.<\/p>\n

\u2018We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life. We love it here.\u2019 <\/p>\n

The comedian was one of the biggest names in Hollywood showbiz for 30 years, with her long-running daytime chat show, a 1990s sitcom, and for hosting awards shows including the Oscars<\/a>.<\/p>\n
