One of the three senior players let go by Huddersfield Giants at the end of the 2025 season has now signed with a new club.<\/p>\n

Back in September, the Giants confirmed that trio Aidan McGowan, Jake Bibby and Jack Bibby would all be leaving<\/a> and the latter of those has now signed with Widnes Vikings in the Championship.<\/p>\n

Prop forward Jack actually spent the end of the 2025 campaign on loan at the DCBL Stadium<\/a> with the Vikings and he\u2019ll call it home for the next two years, having signed a deal until the end of the 2027 season.<\/p>\n

Bibby, like his brother Jake, arrived from Wigan but whereas the outside back earned quite regular game time, forward Jack didn\u2019t and that saw him make a number of loan moves away.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old signed for the Giants in 2023 but would only make a total of nine appearances at Huddersfield, with seven of those coming last year before his loan move to Widnes.<\/p>\n

His 2023 and 2024 campaigns were characterised by loan spells in the Championship as well, making 13 and 12 appearances for Keighley and Dewsbury respectively as both sides suffered relegation.<\/p>\n

He now joins a Widnes side who will be among those expecting to compete atop a newly-formed second tier as the Championship and League One comps amalgamate to form a 21-team division.<\/p>\n

Widnes, who finished seventh in 2025, have already seen three of their rivals promoted whilst relegated Salford are in a huge state of disrepair with a HMRC hearing impending and just a handful of senior players remaining.<\/p>\n

As such the Vikings will certainly fancy a tilt at silverware and the signing of Bibby from Huddersfield indicates that with the former Giants man a big addition to Allan Coleman\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n

Coleman, who said he was \u201cbuzzing\u201d to permanently sign Bibby, added: \u201cI think he showed last year how strong a player he can be for us.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve identified him as a younger profile of player, like with Kieran Taylor, who we can bring in and develop.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s still only 24 years old, so he has a massive future ahead of him and I can\u2019t wait to see him progress.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bibby, who has only just turned 24, said: \u201cI\u2019m excited to sign for the club. It\u2019s got a great future ahead from what I gathered talking to Allan last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving the chance to come back to the club permanently is a really good thing after playing on loan last year.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also made it clear that the club are pushing for the play-offs and to do so comfortably, having missed out by four points in 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have faith that this group can create something great this year,\u201d said Bibby, adding: \u201cWith the new signings and the playing group already here, we\u2019ve only got better from last year. I think we will be in that top six securely and it won\u2019t be coming down to the last couple of games like we did last year.\u201d<\/p>\n
