Oscar De La Hoya<\/a> has shared his verdict on who he believes is the better fighter between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Terence Crawford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Money\u2019 Mayweather is regarded by many as being one of, if not the greatest fighter of all time. The Michigan-native remained unbeaten throughout the duration of his professional career, winning world titles in five weight classes along the way.<\/p>\n

As for Crawford, the 38-year-old from Omaha etched his name into the sports history books once again last month when he defeated Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez to capture the undisputed super-middleweight championship<\/a> and become the first male fighter ever to achieve this feat in three separate divisions.<\/p>\n

Legendary-fighter-turned promoter De La Hoya actually shared the ring with Mayweather<\/a> during his own career, suffering a split decision defeat to the former pound-for-pound great back in May of 2007, surrendering his WBC light-middleweight title in the process.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media recently, De La Hoya spoke fondly of former rival Mayweather, who he says is \u2018much more superior\u2019 than \u2018Bud\u2019 Crawford in a shock claim.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrawford is more of a fighter boxer, and Mayweather is more of a boxer. But Mayweather is much more superior than Crawford. I feel that technically, Mayweather is the better fighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mayweather announced his retirement from boxing back in 2017, shortly after he defeated former UFC champion Conor McGregor in their monumental crossover bout in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
