Leigh Leopards have confirmed the signing of an overseas half-back to a long-term deal ahead of the upcoming Super League season.<\/p>\n

The Leopards saw their plans at half-back scuppered in the 2024 off-season as Matt Moylan announced his shock retirement, however, Gareth O\u2019Brien stepped up to the plate as Leigh recorded a third-place finish in Super League.<\/p>\n

Both O\u2019Brien and Lachlan Lam have signed new deals to keep them at the club in 2026 with Lam signing beyond and the club have now added another half in for more competition.<\/p>\n

Adam Cook has signed a three-year deal that keeps him at the Leigh Sports Village until the end of the 2028 season with the former New South Wales Cup Team of the Year man signing from Canberra Raiders.<\/p>\n

Cook played 24 times for the Raiders\u2019 reserve side in 2025, captaining the side and am massing 232 points through his seven tries and kicking efforts.<\/p>\n

Leigh Leopards sign overseas half-back to three-year deal<\/p>\n

It\u2019s now been confirmed that he\u2019ll join Leigh as their second overseas signing after the addition of forward Jacob Alick-Wiencke<\/a>, who also signed a three-year deal.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the addition, head coach Adrian Lam said: \u201cAdam is a player we have been tracking as a club for the past two years, He can take control of the game, something we feel we can add to our team.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs coaches here we feel we can develop him to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cHe\u2019s a player who can influence our performances and the style we play will suit him. We are very excited with what he can bring to the club in 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a goalkicker, has a great kicking game and his combinations with Lachlan Lam are going to be a key to our success in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cook, who is still in Australia but will link up for pre-season, said: \u201cI am really looking forward to joining such a great club. The direction in which the club is heading is really appealing to me, especially being a half.<\/p>\n

\u201cGetting to play under Lammy and learn from him and really develop my game further, also to play in such a talented spine and hopefully help the club get a premiership.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve heard a lot about the fans over there so I\u2019m super excited about embracing them and enjoying the whole experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
