Many people regard Stephen Fry as one of the nation’s most intelligent men, but he made a rather stupid mistake on last night’s episode of The Celebrity Traitors.<\/p>\n
Fans of the star-studded BBC<\/a> series were left scratching their heads when the former QI host, who is a Faithful, appeared to drop a hint that he knows more than what’s been revealed on screen.<\/p>\n During last night’s update from the Scottish castle, the celebrities gathered at the roundtable once again for another banishment. She looked at Stephen and said: “I think it’s kind of between you and Jonathan. “No it’s not between us,” Stephen replied, before adding: “You do know there’s three.”<\/p>\n BBC One viewers picked up on Stephen’s comment and flocked to Twitter<\/a> \/X to ponder just why Stephen would make himself look like a Traitor when he is a Faithful.<\/p>\n One person asked: “When Cat said to Stephen ‘it’s between you and Jonathan’, why did no-one pick up Stephen saying ‘there are three of them’ \u2013 how would he know?<\/p>\n “Another fan commented: “Why has nobody pointed out Stephen has said there are three traitors so confidently twice now? I would be gagging him at the roundtable with that.”<\/p>\n Last night’s episode saw singer Charlotte Church’s time on the show come to an end. Cardiff-born Charlotte, 39, who was murdered by the Traitors admitted she often keeps out “of that whole celebrity scene”.<\/p>\n Reflecting on her time on the show after the exit, Charlotte said: “It was way more intense than I expected. It has restored my faith in celebrities a little because, generally, I just really keep out of that whole celebrity scene, and I have perhaps been a little bit too harsh in my judgment of celebrities.<\/p>\n “It was wonderful to spend time with some really very interesting people. I think that\u2019s been my favourite part of the experience. Genuinely, to just be in the company of some extraordinary people with extraordinary stories and minds was the best bit.”<\/p>\n Charlotte was a Faithful on the show, which involves players attempting to win a charity prize by identifying a small group of secretly assigned traitors before they are banished from the game or murdered.<\/p>\n She said: “I was really happy to be a Faithful. I think even if the Traitors had tried to recruit me, I would have said no. I just don\u2019t think I would have been able to hack that level of constant deception.<\/p>\n “I think you need to really want it, and you need to be really up on the strategy of the game and working all the angles in order to be a good Traitor. I just didn\u2019t want that sort of experience. I wanted a bit of an adventure, something different and a challenge.<\/p>\n “Really, as a Traitor, you have to hide but you\u2019re in receipt of all the facts and I think that makes the game easier in a way, and less emotional. I think it\u2019s much more emotionally wrought when you\u2019re a Faithful. That said, I don\u2019t know what it is to be a Traitor and what that experience is to be feeling guilty potentially.”<\/p>\n Like this story?
