Bruce Springsteen<\/a> has said \u201call hell is breaking loose\u201d in the United States under the second term of Donald Trump.<\/p>\n During the past weekend, over seven million disgruntled Americans took to the streets in all 50 states to make their voices known against the Trump administration.<\/p>\n On October 22nd, Springsteen referenced these protests when he appeared as a special guest at the American Film Institute Opening Night Gala for an event celebrating his forthcoming biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere, which arrives in cinemas on October 24th.<\/p>\n After the credits rolled on the movie, which stars Jeremy Allen White as a young Springsteen while he made Nebraska, \u2018The Boss\u2019 took to the stage at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles to perform two acoustic songs and address the state of the US.<\/p>\n \u201cOutside, all hell is breaking loose in the United States,\u201d Springsteen said at the event, according to USA Today<\/a>. He added, \u201cFor 250 years around the world, despite all the faults that we\u2019ve had, the United States has served as a beacon of democracy and hope and freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n Springsteen also told those in attendance that despite how \u201cterribly damaged America has been recently, that country and those ideals remain worth fighting for\u201d.<\/p>\n Before playing \u2018Land of Hope and Dreams\u2019, Springsteen highlighted the No Kings protests against Trump by stating the song is \u201ca prayer for America, our community and no kings\u201d.<\/p>\n During his summer tour in the UK and Europe, Springsteen delivered<\/a> a rallying cry each night to the crowd while introducing \u2018Land of Hope and Dreams\u2019. At every show, he told those in the audience, \u201cIn my home, the America I love, the America I\u2019ve written about, and has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration.\u201d<\/p>\n This led to Trump retaliating to his on-stage remarks in Manchester on the opening night of the tour by launching into a rant on Truth Social. He called Springsteen \u201chighly overrated\u201d<\/a> before adding, \u201cNever liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he\u2019s not a talented guy \u2014 Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump also threatened Springsteen, writing, \u201cThis dried out \u2018prune\u2019 of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite Trump\u2019s threat, Springsteen continued to deliver the same passionate speech at each of his summer shows across the continent.<\/p>\n
