Max ahead of Mexico GP: ‘Keep the momentum’<\/p>\n

Wit five Grand Prix weekends to go in the 2025 Formula 1 season, Max Verstappen has arrived in Mexico City for the Mexican Grand Prix. Ahead of the event, the Oracle Red Bull Racing driver still trails championship leader Oscar Piastri, but Verstappen has reduced the gap to 40 points after a strong run of results.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s obvious we\u2019ve been doing well recently\u201d, said Max. \u201cI definitely enjoy it more this way and we\u2019ll try to maintain the momentum. I want to try and keep winning races until the end of the season. But we also know we have to be perfect if want to have a chance at the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Therefore, the reigning champion remains realistic about his chances. \u201cIt\u2019s still a big gap, but that\u2019s fine. I don\u2019t worry about it. We try to enjoy ourselves and do our best and then we\u2019ll see where we end up. If it doesn\u2019t work, at the very least we can be proud. Everyone thought it would be an easy McLaren title, but at least we\u2019re not making it easy for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> <\/a>At Thursday\u2019s press conference, the Dutchman was asked about the level of risk he is willing to take into turn one. \u201cI don\u2019t think about until I get there on Sunday. Every situation is different, it\u2019s never the same, so there\u2019s no point planning in advance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The remainder of the season plays out across racetracks all featuring different characterises. As such, Max is not sure if he can predict where his RB20 will be best suited. \u201cI don\u2019t think you can always go on past results. Some circuits will suit us better than others and I\u2019ve won here a lot. But then again, last year was a disaster, so we\u2019ll look at it race by race.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regardless, the Aut\u00f3dromo Hermanos Rodr\u00edguez is seen as a unique race on the calendar. \u201cIt\u2019s a tricky circuit, with low grip. We have won here, but every year is different so we\u2019ll see what happens. I\u2019m expecting a fun weekend. The fans are always great and full of passion.”<\/p>\n

Due to his recent form, some media have described Max as the best version of himself. He himself is less convinced: \u201cI\u2019m not sure I agree. Yes, it\u2019s more fun to fight at the front, but I always give everything I\u2019ve got, on both the good and bad days. I\u2019ve always been like that.
