{"id":223133,"date":"2025-10-24T17:34:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T17:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/223133\/"},"modified":"2025-10-24T17:34:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T17:34:08","slug":"undefeated-former-world-champion-tells-fans-hes-retired-at-26-stop-asking-me-when-ill-be-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/223133\/","title":{"rendered":"Undefeated Former World Champion Tells Fans He&#8217;s Retired At 26: &#8220;Stop Asking Me When I&#8217;ll Be Back&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An unbeaten former world champion has once again confirmed he is officially retired from the sport, much to the disappointment of his fans.<\/p>\n<p>Following the controversial events prior to his scheduled WBO lightweight title defence back in June, Virginia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/topic\/keyshawn-davis\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Keyshawn Davis<\/a> sensationally announced that he will be hanging up his gloves in a shock revelation.<\/p>\n<p>The unbeaten 26-year-old had been in line to make the first defence of his WBO title against Edwin De Los Santos in his hometown of Norfolk on June 7 but was actually stripped of his crown after he failed to make weight, coming in at 4.3lbs over the lightweight limit.<\/p>\n<p>After the teams of both fighters failed to come to a suitable agreement following this, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/news\/keyshawn-davis-statement-on-chaos\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the fight was cancelled and a backstage brawl ensued<\/a>, which ultimately led to ex-lightweight champion Davis announcing his retirement from the sport at just 26-years-old.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/JMS0ji1J6oA?si=UVi4Is23kK86EWKu&amp;t=407\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Speaking on a social media live stream recently<\/a>, Davis once again confirmed that he is officially retired from boxing and will not be making a return to the ring anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHoly cow, \u2018When am I getting back in the ring?\u2019 Bro I\u2019m retired, stop asking me that, I\u2019m retired.
