St Helens have wrapped up the services of England international Daryl Clark for a further season.<\/p>\n

Clark was already contracted until the end of the 2026 season but he has penned a contract extension to remain with the club another year. It means Clark\u2019s contract now runs until the end of the 2027 Super League season, with the hooker readying himself to start life under Paul Rowley.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old has been with St Helens for two seasons now, arriving at the club ahead of the 2024 campaign following the retirement of James Roby. Since making the switch from Warrington Wolves, he has made 52 appearances for the club and scored 13 tries, with his most recent coming against Wakefield Trinity back in August.<\/p>\n

Clark, who is in the England squad at present and has been named in Shaun Wane\u2019s 19-man squad to take on Australia this weekend, looks set to play a key role under Rowley. And, with his future secured beyond the next 12 months, he\u2019ll be completely focused on helping the former Salford Red Devils head coach make a swift start next year with the Saints<\/a><\/p>\n

St Helens secure future of Daryl Clark<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve really enjoyed it here since day one when I joined, all the lads made me feel so welcome straight away,\u201d he told the club website.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve loved the last two years, so I\u2019m really happy to have another two years to come. Our aim now is to kick on as a team by being more consistent so that we can go that step further and win silverware.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI always want to be involved, and I\u2019ve been lucky not to miss large chunks of the season. Hopefully, that continues because I want to play in as many games as I can for Saints and go win something here too.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the arrival of Rowley at the newly named BrewDog Stadium, Clark added: \u201cI think the way Paul likes to play is very much how I like to play, too. He likes expansive rugby and to move the ball around, get quick plays off the ruck, which plays into my hands, I feel.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to meeting and working with him, and as I said before, kicking on together as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n
