A former unified welterweight champion has vowed to secure himself a future showdown with pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bud\u2019 Crawford extended his unblemished professional record to 42-0 last month when he defeated Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez<\/a> to capture the undisputed super-middleweight world championship at a sold-out Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old put on an impressive display against his Mexican rival to etch his name into boxing history by becoming the first male fighter in the sports history to win an undisputed championship in three weight classes.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bud\u2019 previously held all four major world titles at welterweight, a feat he achieved back in 2023 when he dismantled countryman Errol Spence Jr in the 9th round of their historic showdown.<\/p>\n

Whilst he defeated a number of highly-rated welterweights during his campaign at 147lbs, one man that he didn\u2019t end up sharing the ring with is former unified WBC and WBA champion Keith \u2018One Time\u2019 Thurman.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Brian Custer<\/a>, Thurman admitted that he believes he could tempt Crawford to a future showdown, should he go on to win a version of the world super-welterweight title.<\/p>\n

\u201cThurman versus Crawford, I still think he wants to come back down. I still think that\u2019s something for us \u2026 Man, we should run it. Step in one time with the \u2018One Time,\u2019 baby \u2026 I don\u2019t know what entices him these days, but I feel like maybe, just maybe, the green belt might entice him just a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thurman had been set to face reigning WBC super-welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora next, but the fight has now been postponed after \u2018The Towering Inferno\u2019 suffered an injury to his hand.<\/a><\/p>\n
