Equity Bank Kenya has announced a temporary disruption in
\nits bank-to-mobile wallet transfer service, affecting users who rely on the
\nfeature for day-to-day transactions.<\/p>\n

In a statement shared on Saturday, October 25, 2025, the
\nlender said it was experiencing a system interruption that had impacted
\ntransactions from bank accounts to mobile money platforms.<\/p>\n

The bank assured users that its technical team was working
\nto resolve the issue and restore services within the shortest time possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are experiencing a service interruption affecting
\nbank-to-mobile wallet transactions. Kindly bear with us as the technical team
\nworks to restore the services,\u201d Equity said in its official notice.<\/p>\n

The bank apologised to users for the inconvenience caused by
\nthe outage and urged them to remain patient as restoration efforts continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe apologise for the inconvenience,\u201d the notice read,
\nadding that normal services would resume once the technical issues are
\nresolved.<\/p>\n

Equity also used the opportunity to remind its customers to
\nremain vigilant against fraudsters who might take advantage of the disruption
\nto impersonate bank officials.<\/p>\n

The lender reiterated that it only communicates with clients
\nthrough its verified number, and warned customers not to share personal banking
\ninformation such as PINs, passwords, or one-time passwords (OTPs).<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease remember, Equity calls you from only ONE number \u2014
\n0763 000 000. Do not engage with anyone asking for your personal banking
\ndetails. Equity will never ask for your bank details, PIN, password, OTP, or
\ncard information on phone or SMS,\u201d the statement emphasised.<\/p>\n

The notice comes amid increased reliance on digital banking
\nand mobile money services across the country, where millions of Kenyans use
\nmobile wallets such as M-Pesa, Airtel Money, and T-Kash to send, receive, and
\nwithdraw funds daily.<\/p>\n

The bank-to-mobile wallet transfer service allows Equity
\nBank users to move funds directly from their bank accounts to mobile money
\nplatforms in real-time.<\/p>\n

This integration makes it possible for users to access money
\ninstantly without visiting a physical branch or ATM.<\/p>\n

The temporary outage is expected to affect various real-time
\ntransfers and may cause delays in payments until the issue is fully resolved. <\/p>\n
