\n\tSteven Soderbergh<\/a> is speaking out about his unmade \u201cStar Wars<\/a>\u201d movie, \u201cThe Hunt For Ben Solo.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter would-be star Adam Driver<\/a> revealed the project<\/a> in an interview with AP on Monday, the \u201cOcean\u2019s Eleven\u201d director took to BlueSky<\/a> to write that he \u201cdid not enjoy\u201d hiding the project from fans, but emphasized the importance of keeping it under wraps.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor the record, I did not enjoy lying about the existence of \u2018THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO,\u2019 but it really did need to remain a secret\u2026until now!\u201d Soderbergh wrote on Monday.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Friday, he added, \u201cAlso, in the aftermath of the \u2018HFBS\u2019 situation, I asked Kathy Kennedy if LFL had ever turned in a finished movie script for greenlight to Disney and had it rejected. She said no, this was a first.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Hunt for Ben Solo\u201d was set to take place after the events of \u201cThe Rise of Skywalker,\u201d and would have followed Driver\u2019s Kylo Ren, aka Ben Solo, on a search for redemption. Driver called the unmade film \u201cone of the coolest\u201d projects he\u2019s ever been a part of.<\/p>\n

\n\tSoderbergh had previously told AP of developing \u201cThe Hunt for Ben Solo,\u201d \u201cI really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I\u2019m just sorry the fans won\u2019t get to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Friday, Collider reported that a group of \u201cStar Wars\u201d fanatics paid for a plane<\/a> towing a banner reading \u201cSave \u2018The Hunt for Ben Solo\u2019\u201d to fly over Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, Calif.
