Elephants<\/a> do everything as a herd. They eat at the same time, take naps together, and roam the lands side by side. The mothers even share parenting duties, caring for each other\u2019s babies as if they were their own. Every once in a while, though, there\u2019s a straggler in the group\u2014and while they\u2019re never actually left behind, it might feel that way when the others don\u2019t stop moving!<\/p>\n

At the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi nursery, one baby elephant has earned a bit of a reputation for being fashionably late. Pardamat, a 3-year-old African elephant who was rescued two years ago, is a certified dawdler with absolutely no sense of urgency\u2014well, not until he realizes the rest of the little pachyderms<\/a> have moved further down the trail without him.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when the drama begins. Pardamat has a little mini panic moment, trumpets loudly, and takes off running at full speed<\/a> (well, the elephant version of full speed) to catch up with his friends.<\/p>\n

In the most recent Instagram video shared by the Trust, two adorable clips show Pardamat in action. In the first, the little sweetie<\/a> is seen trekking along a path, using his trunk to trumpet for his herd mates as he hustles to rejoin them.<\/p>\n

The second clip offers a closer look at Pardamat, and honestly, for an elephant, he can move pretty fast. He comes bounding down another path, weaving through the rocks, before finally catching up with the others. He even sounds a little out of breath\u2014like he just ran a marathon\u2014or maybe, as the keepers suggest, he\u2019s just being his usual dramatic self.<\/p>\n

One viewer referenced a famous song<\/a>, writing, \u201cI\u2019m late, I\u2019m late, for a very important date!\u201d \u2013and several others agreed that was exactly what came to mind while watching Pardamat run to catch up with the herd.<\/p>\n

Another commenter felt that this little pachyderm could be her spirit animal: \u201cThis is me\u2014terrible time management and always running late, but deeply charming just the same!\u201d<\/p>\n

And one viewer summed it up perfectly with a laugh: \u201cI get it, Pardamat. I was born late, and I\u2019ve been running late ever since!\u201d<\/p>\n
