Still Game <\/a>creator Ford Kiernan<\/a> has told of his delight at seeing children dressed as characters from the show at Halloween.<\/p>\n

The actor and writer, who penned the hit BBC sitcom<\/a> with Greg Hemphill, said he is bombarded with hundreds of pictures every year of youngsters guising as pensioners Jack and Victor and busybody Isa.<\/p>\n

Kiernan<\/a>, 63, said the costumes were a tribute to the much-loved comedy\u2019s impact on Scottish culture.<\/p>\n

Still Game became a comedy phenomenon after making its TV debut in 2002.<\/p>\n

The series, which ended in 2019, is still being watched by millions after being made available on streaming service Netflix and many viewers weren\u2019t born when the original episodes aired.<\/p>\n

Kiernan<\/a>, who played Jack Jarvis, said he has even had children come to his house on Halloween while dressed as his character.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Ford and Shelby Show podcast, Kiernan<\/a>, said: \u201cI get, without exaggeration, a couple of hundred photographs every year, so does Greg, of people done up as us or done up as Isa.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what happens now at Halloween and it\u2019s completely weird.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get loads of lovely photos and I have had weans at the door dressed up as me.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mums and dads like them getting dressed up as me. They don\u2019t want them done up as scary things from Chucky or Saw.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou feel as if, \u2018Well, for that couple of decades I was in the culture enough for people to want to dress up as our characters\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo there\u2019s a bit of a buzz to be had out of that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a difficult concept to understand but it\u2019s quite charming, I can assure you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still Game<\/a> became a comedy phenomenon after making its TV debut in 2002.<\/p>\n

When it returned in 2016 after a nine year hiatus, it became the most-watched TV programme in over a decade in Scotland, attracting more than half of the viewing audience.<\/p>\n
