Sergeant Edwin Okong\u2019o and Corporal Abednego Kyalo bagged bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the event, Mr. James Wasao, coach of the Kenya National Team, lauded the KDF boxers for their discipline and determination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am glad to work with KDF personnel because they are highly disciplined and tactically proficient,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Colonel Martin Njuguna of DEFABA congratulated the Kenyan team for their professionalism and impressive performance at the championships.<\/p>\n<p>International champion Sergeant Edwin Okong\u2019o described the event as a vital platform for nurturing regional boxing talent in East and Central Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis championship is a stepping stone for regional boxing talent and significant for both national prestige and spotting future continental and global athletes,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Private Friza Anyango highlighted the value of the competition in exposing athletes to new opponents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not every day that you get to meet new challengers, especially among lady boxers. This tournament has given me a platform to face new opponents who are instrumental in my growth,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, Team Kenya finished second behind DR Congo, collecting five gold, ten silver, and eight bronze medals.
