Lostprophets disbanded back in 2013 after forming back in 1997, leaving behind a 16-year legacy that was tarnished by the vocalist Ian Watkins’ arrest and conviction for pedophilia. And while Watkins was murdered in prison<\/a> a few weeks ago, the band became defunct by early 2014 after Watkins was arrested in order to distance themselves from him.<\/p>\n

Branching off to form a new group named No Devotion, the remaining members of Lostprophets \u2013 lead guitarist Lee Gaze, drummer Luke Johnson, rhythm guitarist Mike Lewis, keys player Jamie Oliver, and bassist Stuart Richardson \u2013 invited Thursday’s Geoff Rickly<\/a> to act as No Devotion’s vocalist. <\/p>\n

And while No Devotion sounds vastly with their alternative rock, it seems as if the lead guitarist Lee Gaze needs to scratch the heavy music itch, and will be balancing two projects between each other alongside Stuart Richardson because Lee Gaze has been talking to fans on social media about a new project that has been in the works for the last year that sounds like the music he’s “probably most known for.” In a post to X, Gaze says:<\/p>\n

“For those that missed it, I spent the last year writing a record that sounds like the music I’m probably most known for. I have ten songs and we are in the process of [\u2026] mixing some tracks to send to a potential singer. [Stuart Richardson] is also involved. Hoping to release this in 2026.”<\/p>\n

The project was originally teased in late March when Gaze said he was working on some new music, leading a fan to say to ask if it “sounds a bit rockier\/heavier than No Devotion?” to which Lee Gaze confirms in response that it’ll sound “more like my old band.” <\/p>\n

Then, when talking to fans in the past few days, he also goes on to say that it “took a very long time to get back” to find his love for heavy music again.<\/p>\n

Gaze doesn’t talk about Watkins often, or even allude to the now deceased pedophile (for rather obvious reasons), and the PRP reports<\/a> that Gaze acknowledged that it’s been emotionally difficult to rebuild a 16-year career that Watkins destroyed on behalf of the entire band: \u201cIt\u2019s been 13 years since my band ended in the most unimaginable circumstances and it\u2019s still painful to think about. Things could\u2019ve been so different. I don\u2019t talk about it much but I put everything into that band and it should\u2019ve lasted a lifetime. I never really wronged anyone my whole life so it seemed like the ultimate punishment.”<\/p>\n

The project has not been named and no music has been released.<\/p>\n
