Colin Farrell<\/a> has shared some exciting updates about The Batman 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Batman<\/a> was released in 2022 from DC Studios<\/a> and Warner Bros. Pictures<\/a>. Directed by Matt Reeves<\/a>, the superhero film stars Robert Pattinson<\/a> as Bruce Wayne\/Batman<\/a>, while the cast also includes Zo\u00eb Kravitz as Selina Kyle\/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton\/The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Farrell as Oz\/The Penguin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Farrell reprised his role in The Penguin, an HBO series that is part of Reeves\u2019 The Batman Epic Crime Saga<\/a>. That show premiered in 2024, and there has since been much speculation over whether or not a second season will happen.<\/p>\n

What did Colin Farrell say about The Batman 2?<\/p>\n

What is definitely known is that a sequel to The Batman, The Batman Part II<\/a>, is in the works and scheduled to arrive in 2027. Speaking with ComicBook<\/a>, Farrell revealed that The Batman Part 2<\/a> will take place just \u201ca few weeks after\u201d the events of The Penguin.<\/p>\n

In a separate interview with Collider<\/a>, Farrell further discussed getting to play Oz again in The Batman 2 and how making Reeves\u2019 movies is a different experience than working on the HBO show.<\/p>\n

He commented, \u201cIt\u2019s less about \u2018what can I do.\u2019\u00a0I was spoiled rotten with eight hours on HBO.\u00a0It\u2019s less of \u2018what can I do with this,\u2019 and more just to be in that world and be around Robert and be around Jeffrey again, and be led by Matt Reeves. It\u2019s something\u00a0I\u2019m really excited about again, just to be around it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plot details for The Batman 2 remain under wraps at this time. Co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, the movie is currently dated for October 1, 2027.
