It is a joyous scene of broad smiles and some of the children are raising their hands to wave at the camera.\" class=\"sc-5340b511-0 hLdNfA\"\/>University Hospitals of Northamptonshire<\/p>\n<p>The 16-day visit started in late September and concluded earlier this month<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">An NHS nurse described a visit to Ghana to deliver hospital donations and provide healthcare education as &#8220;transformative and humbling&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Eunice Vial, a rheumatology specialist at Northampton General Hospital (NGH), used annual leave to complete a 16-day visit to the West African nation, returning earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">She gave clinical training at a teaching hospital, delivered a donation of end-of-use medical books from NGH and spoke at a workshop educating hundreds of young girls on topics including menstrual hygiene and financial literacy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Mrs Vial said her aim was &#8220;to empower young people and nurses with knowledge that can help them&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">She said the visit revealed &#8220;not only the material needs of Ghanaian children but also their resilience, intelligence, and thirst for knowledge&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;Every dance, smile, and heartfelt &#8216;thank you&#8217; reminded us that hope is alive, and with the right support, these young lives can be uplifted and empowered,&#8221; she continued.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761431770_428_grey-placeholder.png\" class=\"sc-5340b511-0 gUePlo hide-when-no-script\" aria-label=\"image unavailable\"\/><img decoding=\"async\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/b283b210-b1a9-11f0-9cab-2d0a3e089522.jpg.webp.webp\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"University Hospitals of Northamptonshire A head and shoulders shot of Eunice Vial.
