A diver has shared the remarkable sight of two fish hiding inside the bell of a\u00a0jellyfish. Underwater photographer\u00a0Pedro Valencia<\/a>\u00a0captured the\u00a0footage<\/a>\u00a0while blackwater diving in Cozumel, Mexico.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Blackwater<\/a>\u00a0diving is when scuba divers visit the open ocean at night, with deep water below, and use torches to see what creatures migrate up from the depths for a midnight snack.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On this dive, Valencia came across a surprising trio: two fish swimming along inside a jellyfish<\/a>\u2019s bell.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt might seem like a bad setup for roommates, but in the vast ocean, some fish find refuge inside and around jellyfish \u2013 nestling within the bell or navigating among the tentacles,\u201d says jellyfish scientist Scott Morrissey who re-shared the video on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>. <\/p>\n

“This unusual arrangement offers the fish protection from predators, potential access to food, while the fish may serve as ‘bait’ for the jellyfish.\u201d<\/p>\n
