\n Karen Ann Eden was on the sick from her role as a senior clinical advisor for the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) when she took up agency shifts for her own financial gain, a nursing misconduct panel said.\n<\/p>\n
\n She was caught out by timesheets she signed working for Medical Resource Partners, which were dated for days she was signed off work.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mrs Eden admitted her actions, but then spouted off on social media calling a coworker she suspected of reporting her to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) a \u201cgreen-eyed monster\u201d, adding: \u201cJealousy is an awful trait to have\u201d.\n<\/p>\n
\n A nursing misconduct panel found she intended to intimidate her coworker who was named three times in the post, made in February last year.\n<\/p>\n
\n The panel said: \u201cMrs Eden\u2019s actions were representative of a pattern of sustained premediated misconduct over a period of a number of months for her personal financial gain.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cBy working at the Agency while receiving sick pay from the Trust Mrs Eden defrauded the NHS and took valuable resources that could have otherwise been used in treating patients.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n It said she was guilty of misconduct and struck her off the nursing register.\n<\/p>\n
\n Amanda Dunkely, assistant director of people services at NEAS, said: \u201cAlthough cases like this are rare, when we became aware of this, we took appropriate action and reported this matter to the NMC.\n<\/p>\n
