One died shortly after.

The group was found to have been tamed and were used to being cared for by humans when they were discovered in freezing temperatures.

Experts believe they would have died if they had not been trapped, as they looked to humans for food and were used to heating.

RZSSBluebell was one of three female lynx rescued RZSS

The female trio were cared for at Edinburgh Zoo while undergoing quarantine before being rehomed in Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig, Kingussie, where they have undergone routine care and vet checks.

Megan Retallick, animal keeper at Highland Wildlife Park, said: “The girls have settled in incredibly well. Their outgoing nature keeps us on our toes, and we’re always finding new ways to train and enrich them.

“We seem to have mastered station training, which rewards the cats for coming to a specific spot.
