\u2018Mercurial talent\u2019 Ata Hingano has agreed a new deal which will see him play in Super League for York Knights<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old featured for New Zealand Warriors and Canberra Raiders in the southern hemisphere NRL before spells with Salford Red Devils and Leigh.<\/p>\n

He joined York in 2022, initially on loan before signing a three-year contract. His new deal will keep him at the club for their debut Super League season in 2026 and he insisted: \u201cThis club has been overlooked in the past, but everyone here has believed in what we could achieve.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow we\u2019re making history by reaching Super League. It feels special to be part of something that\u2019s growing and finding its place, just like my own journey in the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hingano, a World Cup semi-finalist for Tonga against England eight years ago, was York\u2019s player, back and players\u2019 player of the year in 2024.<\/p>\n

Coach, Mark Applegarth said: \u201cLiam Harris and Ata are an unbelievable partnership and Ata is a mercurial talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe can turn a game on its head by himself. He has such a positive impact on the group, and it has been so pleasing to see him grow into the role he has got now, developing on and off the field. I\u2019m absolutely delighted he\u2019s still with us.\u201d<\/p>\n
