Aspiring rugby player Dave Fisilau has signed an academy contract with Exeter Chiefs as he follows his brother and father\u2019s footsteps in the sport.<\/p>\n
The centre\u2019s elder brother Greg is a regular in director of rugby Rob Baxter\u2019s starting XV and Baxter is already looking to the future by adding the youngster to Chiefs\u2019 academy ranks.<\/p>\n
Fisilau said: \u201cI\u2019m super grateful for this opportunity and it feels like a dream come true to sign for Chiefs. I hope to achieve great things at the club and develop myself as I contribute to the team as much as I can.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fisilau\u2019s father Keni was a club stalwart for Plymouth Albion as well as representing Tonga at international level.<\/p>\n
Baxter said: \u201cWe\u2019re very aware of the Fisilau\u2019s as a family and, after how well Greg has done as a Chief, we\u00a0had a good look at Dave who is a very good player in his own right.<\/p>\n
\u201cDave expressed an interest in coming to the University of Exeter and joining our academy through the player\u00a0pathway there. We think he\u2019s someone with a lot of potential, so we\u2019re delighted he\u2019s made the decision to join us.<\/p>\n
\u201cDave genuinely looks like a young man who could contribute a lot to our academy system, and we\u2019re excited to see his future where he will hopefully progress through into being a senior player.\u201d<\/p>\n
