{"id":231008,"date":"2025-10-28T23:46:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T23:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/231008\/"},"modified":"2025-10-28T23:46:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T23:46:07","slug":"james-anderson-receives-knighthood-in-windsor-castle-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/231008\/","title":{"rendered":"James Anderson receives knighthood in Windsor Castle ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espncricinfo.com\/cricketers\/james-anderson-8608\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">James Anderson<\/a>, England&#8217;s all-time leading wicket-taker, has received his knighthood from Princess Anne during a ceremony at Windsor Castle.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson, 43, was named in former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak&#8217;s resignation honours list in April for services to cricket, having brought the curtain down on his 21-year, 188-Test career at Lord&#8217;s in July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>He finished with 704 Test wickets, the most ever taken by a pace bowler, and behind only spinners Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Shane Warne (708).
