Following months of speculation, NRL star Tom Trbojevic has put an end to the rumours linking him with a move to the UK, after signing a contract extension with Manly Sea Eagles.<\/p>\n

The full-back was one of the first names linked with the revamped London Broncos side<\/a>, following their recent takeover by Gary Hetherington and Australian legend, Darren Lockyer.<\/p>\n

However, it was Sam Burgess\u2019 Warrington Wolves who were the party most interested in his signature<\/a>, but if a move to England were to happen, the former New South Wales Origin player would have had to take a major pay cut.<\/p>\n

However, talks about his future can now be put to rest as the 29-year-old has inked a new deal with current club Manly, in what will be his 12th season at the club.<\/p>\n

Trbojevic still had a year left on his contract, however NRL rules state that any player with less than 12 months on their current deal are free to negotiate with other teams in order to pursue a future deal. We saw the same prevention taken by the Dolphins earlier this year with England star Herbie Farnworth agreeing new terms,<\/a> and it means that any doubts over where his future lies can be squashed.<\/p>\n

Whilst it doesn\u2019t rule out a move to the UK in the long-term, Trbojevic admitted he was happy where he currently is.<\/p>\n

He said:<\/a>\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m so pleased to be staying at Manly for at least another two seasons. This club is such a big part of my life and always will be.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be the best I can be next season, and that will be my focus over the next few months in pre-season. I think the future looks bright here at Manly and it\u2019s great to have my new contract put to bed.\u201d<\/p>\n
