Oscar De La Hoya<\/a> has set the record straight on whether he could be tempted to make a boxing comeback in the near future.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Golden Boy\u2019 drew the curtain on his decorated professional boxing career back in 2008, having captured a number of major world titles across six weight divisions.<\/a><\/p>\n

Whilst he suffered a handful of defeats throughout the course of his tenure, De La Hoya did rack up a number of legacy-defining victories along the way over the likes of Hector Camacho, Ike Quartey and Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.<\/p>\n

After he was beaten by Filipino great Manny Pacquiao in his final outing, De La Hoya turned his attention to his promotional career under the \u2018Golden Boy Promotions\u2019 banner, a company he established back in 2002.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Golden Boy\u2019 has worked with many highly-rated fighters during his tenure as a boxing promoter, including Marco Antonio Barrera, Canelo Alvarez, Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins to name a few.<\/p>\n

In recent years, a number of boxing icons have made their return to the sport<\/a>, and now De La Hoya has answered if he plans to do the same.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Fight Hub TV,<\/a> De La Hoya shut down the rumours that he could potentially make a return to the ring, as he recalls how he felt ahead of his clash with Pacquiao back in 2008.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not that stupid, I tried shadow boxing here for like ten seconds and my heart was gonna f**king jump out of my chest \u2026 I think about my last fight against Manny right and I think about stepping foot inside the ring and feeling defeated already right? Even before the bell rang.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen I see myself getting pummelled on against Manny for what, eight straight rounds? And I felt like I left my soul in the ring, I felt like my soul just went up to the sky, my boxing soul you know?\u201d<\/p>\n
