A few days have passed since leaker Digital Chat Station claimed<\/a> that Honor would soon be embarking on its first 10,000 mAh-backed smartphone. Now, evidence of the device’s existence has turned up on the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) public database. As the photo below shows, Sunwoda has manufactured a battery for Honor with a rated capacity of 9,886 mAh.<\/p>\n

Also packing 37.37 Wh of energy, Honor is likely to advertise this battery as offering a circa 10,000 mAh typical capacity to eclipse the 8,000 mAh battery it brought out with the Honor Power in April<\/a>. Currently, WhyLab anticipates<\/a> that Honor could use this new battery technology inside the Power 2 or the X80. Writing on Weibo, the leaker adds that both smartphones may launch before the end of the year, which would be earlier than Digital Chat Station’s previous expectations.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the latter leaker previously indicated that the Power 2 will complement this battery with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset and a 1.5K display. Ultimately, a 10,000 mAh battery inside a smartphone is nothing groundbreaking. For example, Doogee crammed a 22,000 mAh battery inside last year’s V Max Pro<\/a> (curr. $469 on Amazon)<\/a>. However, the Power 2 is rumoured to achieve just under half that capacity with a chassis that is around a third as thick at 8~9 mm, excluding its presumed camera housing.<\/p>\n
