Bon Jovi<\/a> have responded to rumours of the band\u2019s upcoming stadium shows being a farewell tour.<\/p>\n

The band announced a run of UK and Ireland stadium shows and a New York residency for the summer of 2026 last week (October 22).<\/a><\/p>\n

These will be the biggest live shows since Jon Bon Jovi had surgery on his vocal cords in 2022<\/a>, a process which at one point he said left him uncertain that he would ever be able to tour again<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, the band have responded to rumours that the tour would be their last.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast, which you can listen to below, Jon Bon Jovi<\/a> confirmed he hoped the tour wouldn\u2019t be a farewell one.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI\u2019ve always been a pretty resilient guy, and I\u2019ve always had a will. My wife had said\u2026\u2018he would will it into existence\u2019. I would just go and just plough through that field until I got to the other side. When I couldn\u2019t [tour], because I physically couldn\u2019t, that was disheartening, but I didn\u2019t want to not do it. I\u2019m not doing this for the applause, I\u2019m not doing it for the money, I\u2019m not doing it for the fame.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had enough of all of it. But I would like to feel that joy and the resonance, even if it were only one last time. I don\u2019t think this is anywhere near a farewell tour or anything like that, but if it were, you could trust that these few shows that I\u2019ve announced are going to be joy filled because this gratitude, humility, opportunity to go out there and do it again is all heartfelt.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers will be hitting the road in July 2026, playing four nights at the iconic Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, before heading across the pond for a trio of major shows in the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n

They will play at Edinburgh\u2019s Murrayfield Stadium on August 28, followed by Croke Park on Dublin on August 30 and finally a giant show at London\u2019s Wembley Stadium on September 4.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the tour, Jon Bon Jovi added: \u201cThere is a lot of joy in this announcement \u2013 joy that we can share these nights together with our amazing fans and joy that the band can be together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am lucky enough to be able to hold a light out to the audience each night and stand in their reflection for a tremendous collective experience \u2013 I get to stand in the WE of our concerts. And I\u2019ve spoken extensively on my gratitude but I will say it again, I\u2019m deeply grateful that the fans and the brotherhood of this band have been patient and allowed me the time needed to get healthy and prepare for touring. I\u2019m ready and excited!\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, Bon Jovi released their 16th album \u2018Forever<\/a>\u2019, a celebration of the band\u2019s 40th anniversary and a follow-on from the Disney+<\/a> documentary film Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Around the release of \u2018Forever\u2019, Jon Bon Jovi told NME about his hesitancy to return to the stage<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m still not confident I could do two-and-a-half hours a night, four days a week and I won\u2019t book a gig until I\u2019ve done that on a rehearsal level,\u201d said Bon Jovi. \u201cAt this moment in time, we\u2019re rehearsing once a month just to see the progress. I\u2019m not there yet and it blows.\u201d<\/p>\n
