Former undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney<\/a> has shared his thoughts on the controversial showdown between Gervonta Davis<\/a> and Jake Paul<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reigning WBA lightweight champion \u2018Tank\u2019 Davis is gearing up to face \u2018The Problem Child\u2019<\/a> in a ten round exhibition clash on Friday November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.<\/p>\n

Davis last appeared back in March when he fought to a majority decision draw against countryman Lamont Roach Jr, a result that could have quite easily gone in favour of the challenger who put on an impressive display against the three-weight world champion.<\/p>\n

Paul racked up his sixth consecutive victory when he made his return to the ring back in June, defeating former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their cruiserweight bout in California.<\/p>\n

With the Davis vs. Paul fight on the horizon<\/a>, one man who has shared his verdict is two-weight world champion Haney, who has been linked to a clash with \u2018Tank\u2019 in the past himself.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Haney claimed that Davis\u2019 decision to opt for a bout against \u2018The Problem Child\u2019 instead of a rematch with Roach is \u2018his business\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah I mean, it\u2019s an exhibition fight \u2026 That\u2019s his business at the end of the day, that\u2019s his business, we all know what that means, we know that it was much more at stake. Him fighting Jake rather than fighting Lamont, did we all wanna see the Lamont fight? Yeah. I think that they\u2019ll still do [the rematch.]\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked for how the event might play out, Haney said:<\/p>\n

\u201cJake is a decent boxer. He has skills and he works hard and, at the end of the day, he\u2019s big. Tank is small. It\u2019s an intriguing fight. Tank has way more experience, he\u2019s been boxing since he was a kid. Should he go in there and win? Yes, but I don\u2019t know the rules, the ins and outs of the fight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis actually revealed earlier this year that he could go on to announce his retirement from the sport by the end of 2025, meaning his impending exhibition match-up against Paul could be the final time fans see \u2018Tank\u2019 lace up the gloves.
