{"id":235750,"date":"2025-10-31T10:45:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T10:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/235750\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T10:45:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T10:45:10","slug":"southamptons-killer-kelly-makes-inspiring-ring-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/235750\/","title":{"rendered":"Southampton\u2019s \u2018Killer\u2019 Kelly makes inspiring ring debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  On Saturday night, local inspiration Richard \u201cThe Killer\u201d Kelly stepped into the ring for the first time.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The emotional event, Halloween Havoc, took place at Oasis Academy Mayfield and was hosted by Revolution Boxing Southampton in support of Reach Social Foundation, a Southampton-based charity helping adults with learning disabilities build confidence and independence.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Born with cerebral palsy and having undergone life-saving surgery at just 11 years old, Richard fulfilled a lifelong dream as he faced Revolution boxer, Jacob Rice, in an exhibition bout that raised \u00a3665 for the charity.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\" alt=\"Richard Kelly from Southampton\"\/>Richard Kelly from Southampton (Image: Submitted)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Jacob said after the bout: &#8220;Watching Rich\u2019s walkout had other plans for me \u2013 I was supposed to do a video, but the tears started flowing instead.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Last weekend, I got the chance to make this young man\u2019s dream come true. You don\u2019t have to be in between those ropes to be a fighter.
