Manchester United<\/a> have been enjoying a rich vein of form in recent weeks and the Red Devils finally look like they are ticking under the tactics of Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n Amorim\u2019s men are one point outside of the top four and sixth-place United are a point clear of defending Premier League champions \u2013 and arch-rivals \u2013 Liverpool.<\/p>\n The Red Devils picked up their third consecutive win of the 2025-26 Premier League season last Saturday after United\u2019s 4-2 performance over Brighton<\/a> at Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Forget Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney names his favourite ever Man Utd strike partner and one \u2018big thing\u2019 stood out<\/a><\/p>\n Matheus Cunha<\/a> and Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> have had a transformative impact for Manchester United manager<\/a> Ruben Amorim after their summer arrivals.<\/p>\n The Red Devils landed Matheus Cunha from Wolves in June before United\u2019s long-drawn-out pursuit for Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> ended with his signing from Brentford in July.<\/p>\n Speaking in his Sportskeeda<\/a> column, Paul Merson<\/a> has now suggested that the Cunha and Mbeumo partnership could emulate the success of Dwight Yorke<\/a> and Andy Cole<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cBryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha look good,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cDwight Yorke and Andy Cole used to be an unbelievable partnership and these two could become a success like that duo at Manchester United.<\/p>\n \u201cMbeumo and Cunha will always create problems for opponents; it\u2019s just that they have to do it consistently.<\/p>\n \u201cThe teams they played for last season, Brentford and Wolves, they weren\u2019t the most consistent sides.<\/p>\n \u201cSo Mbeumo and Cunha haven\u2019t had that pressure of playing well every single weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n Merson did warn that ex-Brentford ace Mbeumo and former Wolves star Cunha won\u2019t be able to escape the limelight at United if they start underperforming.<\/p>\n \u201cBut now they\u2019re at United and more is expected,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n \u201cIf Brentford or Wolves lose to Nottingham Forest, no-one bats an eyelid.<\/p>\n \u201cBut if it\u2019s Manchester United and they end up losing, the headlines just write on their own.<\/p>\n \u201cThat is what Mbeumo and Cunha have to deal with now.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"Manchester](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/GettyImages-2241725582-1024x681.jpg\")
