One of the players to leave Castleford Tigers at the end of the 2025 season has hit out at the West Yorkshire club over delayed wages, taking to social media to air his grievances and call the club out.<\/p>\n
Castleford Tigers have been accused of \u201cshopping at Netto for their staff\u201d by George Griffin<\/a> with the forward claiming that the contractual payments of players who left at the end of the 2025 season have been laid for \u201cconsecutive months\u201d.<\/p>\n Griffin was among several players to leave Castleford at the end of the 2025 season with the veteran second-rower making the move to Sheffield Eagles<\/a> along with Josh Hodson, as they linked up with former Tigers coach Craig Lingard.<\/p>\n Others to leave the Jungle include former captain Sam Wood (York Knights), Innes Senior and Liam Horne (Leigh Leopards), and Tom Amone (Hull KR).<\/p>\n Per Griffin\u2019s statement on social media, himself and \u201ceveryone else\u201d that left the club have been affected by the late wage payments, though so far it seems no other players have come forward.<\/p>\n Released Castleford Tigers man hits out at club for late wages<\/p>\n Posting on X, formerly Twitter, and simply captioning his post by tagging Castleford Tigers, George Griffin shared a short message to explain the situation and hit out at his former club.<\/p>\n Griffin, who played for the Tigers between 2020 and the end of this most recent season, racking up over 100 appearances, seemed regretful to have to make the statement.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI really didn\u2019t want to leave Castleford Tigers on a bad note as I enjoyed my time there but for consecutive months now, myself and everyone else that has left the club has received their contractual payment late and have been unable to pay their bills.<\/p>\n \u201cNo one at the club seems to know what\u2019s going on or passes the blame to others.<\/p>\n \u201cIt seems Castleford Tigers need to stop shopping at Netto for their staff and start looking elsewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n Griffin isn\u2019t the only player to speak out about unpaid wages on social media lately with Featherstone Rovers\u2019 James Glover taking to social media<\/a> to hit out at the West Yorkshire club for unpaid wages in September and now October.<\/p>\n The RFL declined to comment on that matter when approached by Serious About Rugby League.<\/p>\n Serious About Rugby League has launched a brand new podcast which can be watched in full on our\u00a0YouTube channel here<\/a>.<\/p>\n @CTRLFC<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/IuU8VL5bg9<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 George Griffin (@georgegriffin4) November 1, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t![](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761234489_461_srl-logo.png\"\/){kind=logo}
