No, I don\u2019t have an MGM+ subscription either, but this new version of Robin Hood might be enough to make you sign up (or at least get the seven-day free trial). Sean Bean<\/a> plays the mean Sheriff of Nottingham, who collects the townsfolk\u2019s taxes on behalf of the new Norman monarchy \u2013 whether they can afford it or not. <\/p>\n

Fed up with the crushing regime, local Rob (Jack Patten) starts a rebel group of thieves to \u2013 you guessed it \u2013 steal from the rich and give to the poor. And while this isn\u2019t a modern adaptation, Rob\u2019s love interest Marion (Lauren McQueen) is far more than a damsel in distress in this retelling, instead infiltrating the Norman court and feeding information to the gang.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kim Kardashian<\/a> made her TV acting debut last year in Ryan Murphy\u2019s American Horror Story: Delicate and seems she was so impressive that the showrunner hired her to lead his next series, legal drama All\u2019s Fair. She\u2019s joined by Sarah Paulson<\/a>, Glenn Close<\/a> and Naomi Watts<\/a>, who play lawyers at an all-female law firm, specialising in high-profile (and very expensive) divorces.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all power suits and bitchy quips as the women help LA\u2019s elite to separate from their significant others with as much money in their pockets as possible. Vapid? Yes, but it\u2019s also harmless, glossy fun. <\/p>\n

Wednesday 5 November, Now<\/p>\n

Hollywood darling Rachel Sennott (who you might recognise from films like Bottoms<\/a> and Shiva Baby<\/a> or from Charli XCX<\/a>\u2018s Instagram) stars in her own comedy about a gang of ambitious wannabe influencers surviving in image-obsessed LA. <\/p>\n

Maia (27 years old) is more or less enjoying her life, living with her boyfriend (Josh Hutcherson) and assisting talent agent (Leighton Meester). That is until her ex-best friend, influencer Tallulah (Odessa A\u2019zion), decides to move from New York to California, and signs up as a client to Maia\u2019s agency. I Love LA is being touted as the Gen Z Girls<\/a>, so if it\u2019s warts and all female friendship you\u2019re after, this is the series for you.<\/p>\n

Death by Lightning <\/p>\n

When it comes to assassinated American presidents, everyone remembers Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy, but this limited series (executive produced by the duo behind Game of Thrones<\/a>, David Benioff and DB Weiss) recounts the death of James A Garfield. <\/p>\n

Played here by Michael Shannon, Garfield rose to power in 1881 on the proviso that he would clean up the corruption and dirty politicians who ran the country. But he was shot dead just a few months later by mentally ill lawyer Charles Guiteau (Matthew Macfadyen<\/a>), whose delusions convinced him that he was instrumental in Garfield\u2019s election success.<\/p>\n

Pluribus <\/p>\n

Friday 7 November, Apple TV <\/p>\n

Vince Gilligan has a lot to live up to with his new series, having previously created Breaking Bad<\/a> and Better Call Saul<\/a>. While still set in Albuquerque, New Mexico and starring Rhea Seehorn (who played Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul), Pluribus is Gilligan\u2019s first story outside of the Breaking Bad universe.<\/p>\n

Seehorn is Carol Sturka, an irritable author who seems to be the only person unaffected by a mysterious virus that has taken hold of the human race. You\u2019ll be glad to hear that this bug is nothing like Covid \u2013 instead, it makes everyone deliriously happy and nice to one another\u2026 which is absolutely unbearable when you\u2019re the only one still miserable. <\/p>\n

All Her Fault <\/p>\n

Friday 7 November, Now<\/p>\n

Based on Andrea Mara\u2019s 2021 novel, this zippy thriller kicks off with every parent\u2019s worst nightmare \u2013 a missing child. Succession\u2019s Sarah Snook<\/a> plays Marissa, whose son Milo is nowhere to be seen when she goes to pick him up from a playdate with a boy from school. Worse, she doesn\u2019t recognise the woman who answers the door, who claims to have no knowledge of Milo ever being there. <\/p>\n

As searches for the missing boy begin, rumours and suspicion over the women closest to the disappearance spreads like wildfire \u2013 and soon even Marissa finds herself implicated. <\/p>\n

The Beast in Me <\/p>\n

When two stars of the most revered American spy dramas<\/a> in recent memory \u2013 Clare Danes of Homeland and Matthew Rhys of The Americans \u2013 star in a series from the creator of The X-Files, it\u2019s worth paying attention. <\/p>\n

Danes is Aggie Wiggs, a writer of mysteries grieving the loss of her son, while Rhys plays her slimy new neighbour Nile Jarvis, who \u2013 Aggie discovers \u2013 was once accused of murdering his own wife. Aggie can\u2019t help but investigate the truth behind the allegations and soon becomes embroiled in a twisty game of cat and mouse with her wily neighbour. Sometimes the truth hurts \u2013 literally. <\/p>\n

Jack Whitehall<\/a> has dipped his toe into the acting world a few times, but Prime Video\u2019s new psychological thriller marks his most serious role to date. He plays Adam Healey, a charming tutor who, upon meeting the wealthy Tanner family while on holiday in Greece, sees an opportunity to climb the greasy pole. <\/p>\n

When he \u2013 by no accident \u2013 ends up working for them back in London, Adam begins to wheedle out their secrets and weaponises them, turning the Tanners against each other. Why? That\u2019s something patriarch Jamie (David Duchovny) is determined to find out. <\/p>\n

Landman season two <\/p>\n

Yellowstone<\/a> might have come to a disappointing end<\/a> last year, but Landman<\/a> is proof that showrunner Taylor Sheridan hasn\u2019t lost his Midas touch \u2013 the first episode was watched by a staggering 35 million people worldwide. <\/p>\n

Going into the highly anticipated second series, the eponymous \u201clandman\u201d Tommy has reluctantly been made the boss of oil and gas company M-Tex, following the death of his boss Monty (no more Jon Hamm, I\u2019m afraid). His new power puts his friendly relationship with the fieldworkers under strain, while Monty\u2019s widow Cami (Demi Moore) is more hinderance than help. Who\u2019s really in charge of M-Tex? I\u2019m sure they\u2019d both have different answers\u2026 <\/p>\n

The Death of Bunny Munro <\/p>\n

Bunny Munro (Matt Smith) is a door-to-door salesman, flogging beauty products to the housewives of Brighton. He\u2019s also a self-professed lothario, sleeping with the women who invite him into their living rooms to distract himself from the fact that his wife, Libby (Sarah Greene), has killed herself. Trundling alongside him is his 9-year-old son, Bunny Junior, who whiles away the hours by speaking to the ghost of his mother as his father takes him on an unruly road trip across southern England.<\/p>\n

Based on the 2009 novel by Nick Cave<\/a> (who also provides the music), this is a dark, funny, delicate tale of grief and the relationship between father and son. <\/p>\n

Stranger Things season five <\/p>\n

Netflix is known for splitting its most popular series into two parts (partly to build suspense, partly to keep us all subscribed for another month), but the final season of sci-fi behemoth Stranger Things<\/a> will arrive in three different \u201cchapters\u201d. <\/p>\n

The first four episodes, which come after three years away, open with Hawkins in a bad state \u2013 not only has Vecna escaped the Upside Down and disappeared without a trace, but the military has put the entire town on lockdown while they hunt for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
