Tottenham are eyeing up a shock bid for Napoli\u2019 Scott McTominay who has flourished since leaving Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

McTominay left Man United for Napoli<\/a> back in August 2024 and has become an idolised figure in the south of Italy.<\/p>\n

His rapid progression in Naples has caught the attention of the Lilywhites who are keen to bolster their midfield.<\/p>\n

It will be hard for Tottenham to tempt McTominay away from Napoli<\/a>, but money does talk in football and Thomas Frank<\/a> certainly has that in abundance in north London.<\/p>\n

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, I Partenopei will not be easily convinced to part with their talisman.<\/p>\n

Antonio Conte<\/a>\u2018s side are currently joint top of the Serie A after nine matches with Roma and cannot afford to lose any of their key men.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast over the massive transfer figure that Tottenham would need to have any chance of bringing the Scotland international back to England, I explained: \u201cI can\u2019t imagine Napoli will be open to letting Scott McTominay leave. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s such a key man for them. He\u2019s their talisman right now in that Napoli side, especially now with Kevin De Bruyne<\/a> out injured. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ll need to keep hold of their best players and McTominay is definitely that. Four goals in 11 appearances this season (as of 30 October) and Napoli are top of Serie A again. <\/p>\n

\u201cNapoli won\u2019t want to weaken their squad by losing such an important player like Scott McTominay. He\u2019s under contract until 2028, so, to even consider selling him would be a huge fee as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

With McTominay playing at a high level for his club and leading his nation to a possible return to the World Cup, a former teammate is still eager to leave Old Trafford just like the Scotsman did.<\/p>\n

Sources told Football Insider that Man United will not let Kobbie Mainoo leave the club in January<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils\u2019 stance on the Englishman has still not changed since the summer, with his lack of game time a major problem if he wants to be a part of Thomas Tuchel\u2019s squad next June.<\/p>\n

Mainoo<\/a> will be looking on at both McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund\u2019s success with Napoli, wondering if his career could get back on track again with a move to the south of Italy or anywhere else for that matter.<\/p>\n
