Oscar De La Hoya<\/a> has answered just whether or not Ryan Garcia<\/a> could step in for Gervonta Davis<\/a> to take on Jake Paul<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Paul and Davis were set to meet in an exhibition contest on Friday 14 November, but after a new civil lawsuit was filed against \u2018Tank\u2019 in the past few days<\/a>, the bout is now in serious doubt.<\/p>\n

Paul\u2019s promotional outfit MVP have already confirmed that they are exploring all options about whether or not to proceed with the fight, with a number of opponents reported to have been approached about potentially replacing Davis.<\/p>\n

One man that has been linked is former WBC interim lightweight champion Garcia, who actually fought \u2018Tank\u2019 himself back in April 2023, suffering a seventh round stoppage loss.<\/p>\n

While he may have also come up short in his last fight against Rolly Romero in May, Garcia still remains a huge name in boxing, and has spoken in the past about his desire to face Paul.<\/p>\n

Despite that, Garcia\u2019s promoter De La Hoya has now revealed on social media<\/a> that a bout between Paul and \u2018King Ry\u2019 will not be taking place.<\/p>\n

\u201cGolden Boy has a contract with DAZN, and Ryan Garcia has a contract with Golden Boy, and that\u2019s just the way it is. I mean this is business. Ryan Garcia is probably going to go on a rant saying you\u2019re keeping me from making money and this and that. No, you have to go by the law and by the rules.<\/p>\n

It means that Paul may have to search elsewhere for his next opponent, and a former world heavyweight champion has also been linked to the bout.<\/a><\/p>\n
