Time and time again, we keep going \u201cback\u201d to Back to the Future, a true classic and easily one of the most enjoyable movies ever made. And even 40 years removed<\/a> from the original\u2019s release, it will always be Michael J. Fox\u2019s definitive role. And Christopher Lloyd\u2019s and Lea Thompson\u2019s and Thomas F. Wilson\u2019s and\u2026And Fox seems to be totally fine with that, knowing the movie will continue to build its legacy as fans keeping sharing it.<\/p>\n

Speaking with the Associated Press<\/a>, Fox said of his Back to the Future fanbase, \u201cI\u2019ll be on the street and some kid will go, \u2018There\u2019s Marty McFly!\u2019 No, this is an old man\u2026Sometimes I look at it and think about my family. I think about how I have a 37-year-old son who wasn\u2019t born yet. It\u2019s a long time ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

As far as why he thinks people are still drawn to Back to the Future, Fox added, \u201cThe distance between now and 1985 is greater than the distance between 1985 and 1955. In a way, that makes it more accessible. People aren\u2019t locked into their time period. They\u2019re not saying: This is real, this isn\u2019t real. It\u2019s all fantasy.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s pretty great to see that Fox still recognizes the staying power that Back to the Future has and that he stays in touch with many of his castmates (and even buried a purported hatchet with one-time Marty McFly Eric Stoltz<\/a>). Heck, he even finds himself watching the movie himself if it\u2019s on TV even if it\u2019s an inconvenience to others. \u201cI tell this one story about one Christmas when we were decorating the tree, I went to get some popcorn and heard the opening on the TV. I sat down and watched it. An hour later, my wife said, \u2018Where are you?\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019m watching \u201cBack to the Future.\u201d And, you know, it\u2019s really good. I\u2019m good in it.\u2019 Watching it on Christmas Eve, with a bowl of popcorn, I really loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n
